CHILE

MAY MAY
From the north of Chile to the tip to the south of the country there are 4,300 km. The regions more interesting are in the centre of the country, near the capital Santiago, where the climate is similar to the Mediterranean one. Today the wines in Chile are considered among the best of the world, thanks to Silvestre Ochagavia, which in 16th century brought the European vineyards in Chile to improve the quality of local wines. But the serious production of the wine was beginning in 1851. The best wines in Chile are found in valley at the foot of the Andes. Up to now, all the vineyards in Chile were never been infected of Phyloxera.
Alempué, the mother House in May May, was founded in 1999, but the vineyards have already 10-12 years. Certificates are IMO, which means that are used very few pesticides, to protect the environment. In the estate are building a reserve for wild animals.
The vineyards are located in the east of Maule valley, where in summer the day is hot (30°-32°C) and the night is fresh (12-14°C). This thermal excursion between day and night ensuring the development of rich aromas, with a perfect balance between talmini, acidity and alcohol.
Cabernet Sauvignon
The vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has found the ideal place of production in Chile. Fine mature, this wine with color of cherries has aromas of plums, tobacco and vanilla. A little barrique.
